OUR METHOD

Test and build knowledge, share it with everyone.

We are building a free, open-source library with tutorials, blueprints, research, and schematics and, so anyone can access this knowledge for free and start their own sustainable living project.

Our milestones

✔ DONE

1. Bought abandoned land

We bought 10 hectares of burnt land in Portugal in an area that deals with wild fires and invasive trees. A good land to regenerate and do research upon.

2. Set up a basekamp

We build essential infrastructure to host up to 30 people on the land. This includes the set up of elements like a kitchen and an outdoor shower with filtered water from a well, a solar system, dry toilets and a composting system.

3. Build a research center

We want to upgrade our basic infrastructure and extend it to host up to 50 people. This will allow us to bring together more experts, researchers and makers, so we can work on more research projects and share more knowledge.

Who we are

Over the years, Project Kamp has brought together the expertise from natural builders, woodworkers, architects, landscape designers, ecologists, arborists, upcycling designers and many more. Each year the team is slightly changing and adapting to the current projects. If you want to share your knowledge with the world, check our current open tasks!

What is Project Kamp?

Project Kamp is a registered non-profit association based in Portugal. Our goal is to build knowledge around sustainable living and to share this with anyone in the world for free. So when you become a supporter, you help people all over the world to live more sustainably.

How is Project Kamp financed?

Our income stream is based on various different elements, so we are independent from one company, state or person. The biggest stability we get through the monthly support by our members, but we also receive some revenue through our YouTube channel. Each year we publish a report with a detailed overview of all the projects we have worked on, the knowledge we shared and how we spent our money for each project. For full transparency, they are published here on our website and additionally sent as a PDF to each member. Everything we did is documented through video since the start of the project.

How can I keep track of where my money goes?

We regularly share updates on our projects with our members through email. You can set your own preferences for how many updates you want to receive. On top, we frequently publish video updates on our YouTube channel. We also developed a research platform where you can see ongoing research. On our progress page we share an overview of what we have done each year, as well as in-depth annual reports.

Will the knowledge Project Kamp shares always be free?

Yes! We will never implement a paywall for our knowledge. We believe in open source and want as many people as possible to have access to our information.

How much does Project Kamp membership cost?

You can choose the amount of your monthly contribution, starting from €7 a month and going up to €200 per month. Members can also contribute annually and adjust or cancel it at any time. Simply click “Join” in the top right corner to become a member and start supporting people all over the world living more sustainably.

Which payment methods can I use?

All payments are processed by stripe, inc. without your full bank details being shared with us. You can pay using a credit card, debit card, prepaid card or virtual card that is enabled for international online payments.

Is the membership tax deductible?

Yes, since we are a registered non-profit organisation your contribution can be claimed as a donation.

How do I change my monthly contribution?

You can up- or downgrade your contribution anytime. Those are the steps: Scroll to the bottom of this page > Click Login to your account > Go to settings > Account > Manage subscription > Active Subscription > Update Plang

What if I can't pay every month?

No problem, you can cancel your membership anytime without giving us any reasoning. Those are the steps: Scroll to the bottom of this page > Click login to your account > Go to settings > Account > Manage subscription > Active Subscription > Cancel Plan
