1. Who we are

Project Kamp is an open-source non-profit researching and sharing ways of living more sustainably, run by Project Kamp Associação, a non-profit association registered in Portugal.

This policy explains what we do with your personal data when you visit projectkamp.com.

We do not sell your data. Ever.

2. What this covers

This policy is only for the projectkamp.com website, where you can read about our work, browse content, and donate.

Other parts of Project Kamp have their own separate policies:

• The community platform (community.projectkamp.com), where you can create an account, is run by One Army under its own privacy policy.

• If you become a member/donor, that donation is covered by our Membership Terms.

• If you support us on Patreon, Patreon handles your data under its own privacy policy.

You can't create an account on this website, it's for viewing content and donating.

3. What data we collect

When you browse: basic information through cookies: the pages you visit and rough analytics about how the site is used (see section 7). This only happens if you accept analytics cookies.

When you contact us or fill in a survey: your name, email, and whatever you choose to write.

When you donate: your donation is handled by our donation provider. Your card details go straight to them and their payment providers, we never see or store your card information.

4. How we use your data

• To run and improve the website.

• To answer you when you get in touch.

• To process and thank you for a donation.

• To send you updates only if you've asked to receive them.

5. Who we share it with

We use a few trusted tools. They only get the data they need:

• Google Analytics: to understand how the site is used (only with your consent).

• Donation provider: to process donations.

• Webflow: hosts the website.

6. Legal basis

Under EU law (the GDPR) we need a reason to use your data:

• Answering your messages and processing donations: to do the thing you asked for.

• Running and securing the site: our legitimate interest in a working website.

• Analytics cookies and marketing emails: only with your consent, which you can give or withdraw anytime.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to run the site, and Google Analytics to understand how it's used. We're putting a consent banner in place so you can choose which non-essential cookies to allow. In the meantime, you can control or block cookies through your browser settings.

8. How long we keep your data

• Contact and survey messages: kept only as long as needed to deal with them.

• Donation records: as a Portuguese association, we're legally required to keep these for 10 years for tax and accounting purposes.

• Analytics: kept in aggregated form and not used to identify you.

You can ask us to delete your personal data at any time (see section 9).

9. Your rights

Under EU law you can, at any time and free of charge:

• Ask what data we hold about you

• Correct it if it's wrong

• Ask us to delete it

• Object to how we use it

• Ask for a copy to take elsewhere

Just email us at the address above. We'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can contact the Portuguese Data Protection Authority (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados, CNPD).

10. Children

This website is meant for people aged 16 and over. We don't ask for your age, so we rely on this: if you're under 16, please ask a parent or guardian before sending us anything or donating. If we're told someone under 16 has shared personal data without a parent's consent, we'll remove it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If we make an important change, we'll post the new version here. Please check back now and then.
